Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has heaped praise on the 9,000 fans that travelled to Manchester for the 2-1 win over Man United on Monday evening.
Goals from Nacho Monreal and Danny Welbeck gave Arsenal a 2-1 win which ensured their passage to the semi-finals of the FA Cup and maintained their hope to retain the title.
9,000 Arsenal fans travelled to up North from London before praising his side for their performance at Old Trafford.
“I have a huge respect for them….9,000 fans travelling up here shows you the huge side of the club,” he told reporters.
“It was important for us to start at a high tempo and put them under pressure. I am pleased with our performance.”
Wenger then took time to praise former Man United striker Danny Welbeck, who scored the winning goal.
“He has pace and I wanted to rotate a little bit but keep the balance of the team. He had a great game.”
