Chelsea target Mauro Icardi has admitted that he is not close to renewing his deal with Inter Milan.

The 22-year-old striker has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this season with Blues boss Jose Mourinho a keen admirer of the Argentine goalscorer.

A whole host of other clubs have also been interested but Mourinho has monitored his contract situation at Italian side Inter Milan since the turn of the year.

Icardi has a current deal with Inter that expires in 2018 but the San Siro outfit are hopeful of extending his deal and increasing his wages.

However, the former Barcelona striker has admitted briefly that he is unaware of a deal.

“I don’t know about my renewal. There are still a lot of things that need to be sorted,” Icardi told reporters.

The striker has netted 15 goals in 25 Serie A appearances so far in 2014-15.
