Manchester United have joined the race to sign Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto, according to Daily Star.

Argentine Vietto has somewhat of a breakthrough season in La Liga, having joined Villarreal last summer from Argentine side Racing Club.

He has since scored 16 goals in all competitions and has helped the Spanish side to a Europa League last-16 place.

His form has caught the attention of potential suitors Real Madrid and Liverpool, whilst Man United have now joined the race after showing interest this weekend.

Old Trafford officials watched Vietto for the Yellow Submarine in their La Liga game with Celta Vigo on Sunday, which saw him score his 12th goal of the season.

Some reports in Spain have claimed that the youngster has a £30m release clause.
