Man United buoyed as Real Madrid fans want Bale and Ronaldo dropped

Manchester United are likely to be buoyed by a recent poll in Spanish daily AS, where fans of Real Madrid have voted to drop both Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Since the Madrid-derby defeat to Atletico Madrid on February 7th, Carlo Ancelotti’s side have struggled to find form, winning three of their last six games but losing their grip on the La Liga title to rivals Barcelona.

A 1-1 draw with Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabeu last week was followed by a 1-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao at San Mames on Saturday afternoon, seeing them be heavily criticised in the Madrid press.

Spanish daily AS have been extremely critical of Madrid’s performances with front-men, Bale, Ronaldo and Karim Benzema blamed for their recent drop in form.

And, a recent poll have seen fans vote for who they would like to be dropped from Madrid’s next game, which comes against Schalke in the Champions League on Tuesdaye evening.

46.1% of Real Madrid fans would drop Gareth Bale, 32.2% would cut Cristiano Ronaldo and 21% would axe French striker Karim Benzema.
