Liverpool are growing concerned that England duo Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson will not renew their current deals at the club, amidst further links to Barcelona and Real Madrid, respectively.

Recently given the role of captain at Anfield, Henderson has been in talks with the club over a new and improved deal for the last few months, as has young winger Sterling.

The former Sunderland midfielder is keen to hold and see if interest from Catalan side Barcelona is serious, having seen further reports this weekend surface in Spanish media, whilst Sterling has been attracting the interest for Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

Both players have been locked in contract talks for a number of months and the club are now becoming increasingly concerned that neither will sign a new deal.

Henderson has just over a year left on his current deal and is keen on a big pay-rise, having rejected a latest offer of £80,000-a-week in the past few days.

Sterling is in a similar situation, having rejected a similar contract.

Having lost Luis Suarez to Barcelona last season, Anfield bosses will now hold a meeting shortly after the FA Cup tie with Blackburn Rovers on Sunday to discuss what action they will take next, in a bid to secure the duo’s future at the club.
