West Ham United are ready to make a summer move for Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson.

The 23-year-old full-back is currently on loan with the Hammers and has largely impressed under the guidance of Sam Allardyce.

Having signed for Arsenal back in 2011, Jenkinson originally featured for the Gunners and forced his way in Roy Hodgson’s England side, making his debut in 2012 against Sweden.

However, following the summer signing of Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United, the former Charlton Athletic defender was loaned across London to Upton Park.

Jenkinson will not feature against his former club on March 14, but co-owner David Gold has given a clear indication of his future, by Tweeting: “He will not play against Arsenal. This year.”

Jenkinson has a contract at Arsenal until 2018.
