Tottenham Hotspur beat Queens Park Rangers 2-1 on Saturday afternoon thanks to a superb double from Harry Kane.

The home side made a good start as they tested Spurs captain Hugo Lloris through Bobby Zamora, but the former Spurs striker failed to beat the Frenchman from close range with his header.

Kyle Walker then started a first attack for the visitors and they instantly created a chance through Harry Kane, who tested Robert Green with a similar header to that of his opposite number.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side then dominated for a large part of the half, although they were nearly caught out as Charlie Austin raced on to a back pass from Walker, but the English striker failed to beat Lloris.

Spurs would then open the scoring as Andros Townsend sent in a free-kick which Kane flicked in past the onrushing Green.

The visitors then doubled their lead with 20 minutes remaining on the clock through Kane, who scored his 26th goal of the season.

Sandro would score just after against his former club, but it proved to be a slight consolation for the home side.
