Arsenal scouting Roma defender

Arsenal are interested in making a summer move for Roma defender Alessio Romagnoli, according to La Repubblica.

The 20-year-old Italian centre-back made his senior debut for Roma at the age of 17 back in December 2012 against Atalanta and he has since been impressing through the ranks at the Serie A club.

Sent out on loan to Sampdoria this season to gain first team football and further his development, the Anzio born youngster is now attracting the likes of Arsenal after a string of solid performances for Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is said to be a keen admirer and has sent scouts to monitor the form and ability of the defender in his remaining games this season.

Romagnoli, who has represented the Italian Under-21 side, has made 14 appearances for Roma since making his debut.
