Barcelona defender Dani Alves will hold of any contract talk with interested clubs Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain as he holds out for a new deal at Camp Nou.

The Brazilian full-back will see his current deal with Barca come to an end on June 30, prompting speculation that he could be in line for a move to either Man United or PSG, who have both shown increased interest in his services.

Barca have thus far failed to offer the former Sevilla man a new deal, causing frustrations amongst fans, close friend and team-mate Leo Messi and Alves, himself.

His former wife and agent, Dinorah Santana spoke earlier this week in an attempt to put pressure on the Catalan club, claiming that Alves was close to agreeing terms with a new club.

“We are close to signing for another club. We are in advanced talks,” she told Rac1.

“Dani is still available for Barcelona to keep hold of this summer, but he will not wait for them for much longer.

“People are trying to make Dani look like the bad guy in this situation and that’s wrong. This situation is quite tiresome.”

However, we understand that Alves will now wait until after the Catalan club have offered him a new deal before making a decision on his future.

Alves joined Barcelona from Sevilla in the summer of 2008 and has played an important part in their recent successes.
