Manchester United defender Jonny Evans will learn his fate after denying an FA charge for allegedly spitting at Papiss Cisse during the midweek clash with Newcastle United.

Evans and Cisse were involved in a on-field confrontation during the Premier League tie at St James Park, which saw both players spit at each other, substantiated by television replays.

Cisse was also charged earlier this week, but has already admitted the charge and has accepted a ban of seven games.

The FA announced on Friday evening that the Republic of Ireland central defender will now learn his fate as the case is further discussed by the Independent Regulatory Commission.
