Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic has revealed he is happy at the club, despite being linked with a £20m move to Premier League side Everton.

The 20-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to a number of European clubs in recent times with Liverpool and Manchester United linked from the Premier League.

The latter had been monitoring the situation of the attacking midfielder for some-time after his role in the Inter side became questioned last season, but it is now being reported that Everton have joined the race and have gone as far to prepare a summer bid of £20m.

But, they will not be buoyed by the Croatian’s recent comments, where he has revealed his happiness at the club.

“Many players get a game wrong or don’t play well, but in Italy there is just too much criticism. I try not to think about it,” the 20-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.

“New players have arrived, but competition is healthy and can only help the squad. I think no team can be build on a single player, as it’s the unit that counts in football.

“I have a good rapport with Mancini, just as I get along with all the players.”
