Porto defender Danilo has verbally agreed terms with Real Madrid to join them this summer.

The 23-year-old, has a £37m release clause in his current deal at the Estadio de Dragao and has attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona and Man United.

United boss Louis van Gaal has been desperate to sign a right-back during his first season in charge at Old Trafford, but has failed to tempt the likes of Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton, although talks are continuing.

However, Danilo, who joined Porto from Santos in 2011, has now agreed terms with Real Madrid, according to Spanish daily Marca.

Real Madrid are believed to be prepared to pay Danilo’s full release clause, however, it is also reported that they could make a cut-price deal with the Portuguese side.
