A first half strike from David Silva and a second half goal from James Milner saw Manchester City beat Leicester City 2-0 on Wednesday evening.

The home side began the game well with January signing Wilfried Bony coming close with a header, however, Argentine midfielder Esteban Cambiasso was on the line to keep his side in the game.

Moments later and Spanish winger Jesus Navas would test Mark Schwarzer with a rasping effort from the right hand side but the former Chelsea keeper was equal to his effort.

Yaya Toure was next to test Leicester’s resolve but Nigel Pearson’s side remained on level terms.

However, David Silva would take matters into his own hands and change the scoreline just before the break as he slotted home at the second attempt.

The second half saw City resume pressure on the visitors with the likes of Sergio Aguero attempting to add to the score, however, Schwarzer and his defence were proving sturdy opponents for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

Leicester, did attempt to get themselves back in the game and Riyad Mahrez came close when he hit the post.

But, City killed the game off when James Milner scored late on following a through ball from Toure.
