West Ham United defender Winston Reid has signed a new and improved six-year deal at Upton Park.
The central defender had been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal as Gunners boss Arsene Wenger continues his search for extra defensive cover, whilst North Londonrivals Tottenham Hotspur have also shown interest.
Reid had been long in talks with West Ham over a new contract as his current deal is due to expire at the end of the season.
Reports in English press had claimed that the central defender was reluctant to sign a new deal at Upton Park and force through a move to either Arsenal or Spurs, but it is now understood the New Zealand-er has put pen-to-paper and agreed a contract extension.
The new deal will see him remain at the club until 2021.
