Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis has been stretchered off the pitch against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane this evening.

The French striker has been taken to hospital for tests after collapsing during the Wednesday night Premier League clash.

It is understood that the former Lyon forward is in a stable condition and is responsive, having left pitch side with his eyes open, wearing an oxygen mask.

Gomis has a history of fainting during his time with Lyon, and reportedly collapsed during a training session with the French national side in 2009.

Swansea later confirmed that the striker had recovered and had not been sent to hospital for any further checks.

The 29-year-old was replaced by Portuguese striker Nelson Oliveira.
