The agent of Fiorentina keeper Neto has confirmed his client will leave the Serie A club this summer.

The 25-year-old Brazilian keeper has been strongly linked with a move to England with Liverpool keen to replace Simon Mignolet, who has been criticised for a whole host of errors.

Boss Brendan Rodgers has watched Neto on several occasions this season and is now said to be buoyed by the news that his agent has confirmed that the keeper will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Neto’s deal at Stadio Artemio Franchi is now into its final six months at the Italian club and will be free to potential suitors.

“He will decided where to go over the next few months,”Stefano Castagna told Sky Sport Italia. “There are several teams interested in him but I don’t like to name names.”

When asked why the Brazilian rejected a contract extension, Castagna added: “When a decision is made, regardless of whether one likes it or not, it should be respected.

“And Neto is an astounding professional. Over five years in Fiorentina he always gave his best in every training session.

“He’ll keep this up until the end of the season. If there were any answers to be given, then I’d say they were given on the pitch.”
