Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan has been told he can leave the Spanish champions this coming summer, Football Express News understands.

The Turkish international has been in superb form over the past couple of season for Atletico, having helped them to a Europa League success, a runners-up finish in the Champions League last season and a La Liga title win last season.

However, bosses at the Spanish club are keen to make a summer move for Edinson Cavani of Paris Saint Germain and are in need of funds, which they hope will come as they make the former Galatasaray playmaker available for transfer.

A whole host of Premier League sides have been interested with Arsenal and Liverpool mentioned.

And, it is now being reported in Spanish press that Turan has set his sights in playing for the latter, whom he is a big fan.

Before joining Atletico in 2011 Turan said: “I want to play in major leagues and my dream team is Liverpool. As I always mention, Liverpool attracts me because of their tradition.

“In Europe, I am a Liverpool supporter, so if I go to play in Europe, I would like to play for them.”

The 28-year-old is currently valued at £30m by leading football transfer site, Transfermarkt.
