James Milner has been told by Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal to drop his contract demands, or face being without a club in June.

The 29-year-old will see his contract expire at the end of the season and is struggling to agree new terms with current club Man City.

The England international is keen to sign a long-term deal at the Etihad stadium but City bosses are only willing to offer a short-term deal, seeing negotiations stall.

Milner has received interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Arsenal.

However, it is now understood that both have informed the winger that he must drop his wage demands, which currently stand at £120,000-a-week.

Former Aston Villa man Milner has been in good form this season but both Brendan Rodgers and Arsene Wenger remain unsure over paying him that amount at the age of 29.
