Chelsea beat Tottenham 2-0 at Wembley on Sunday evening to win England’s first cup competition of the season.
Jose Mourinho’s started the game under heavy pressure as Christian Eriksen tested the form of Petr Cech with a free-kick, but the midfielder’s effort could only smash against the crossbar.
That seemed to spring Chelsea into life as front-men Diego Costa and Eden Hazard combined to force the latter into curling an effort just wide of the goal.
Chances were few and far between through to the half-time break, but Chelsea made the most of one final chance just before the referee’s whistle as John Terry pounced in the box to fire his side 1-0 ahead.
The goal seemed to rock Mauricio Pochettino’s side as Chelsea came out in the second half as Diego Costa found space in the box to fire in a second and seal the cup win.
