Arsene Wenger heaps praise on the Arsenal forward Giroud after scoring against Everton in Arsenal’s 2-0 win on Sunday.

The french forward had a woeful game against Monaco in the Champions League mid week having 6 chances, all of which found the back of the stands instead of the back of the net in a frustrating 3-1 defeat for Arsenal.

Wenger told the post match press: “Olivier has one great quality; when his back is to the wall he has the personality to respond, because I know him better now, that’s why I kept him in the team.”

“I’m not happy only because he scored the goal but because of his work-rate. He’s an important player in the box and with his presence up front and defensively.”

Wenger will be hoping Giroud can find his scoring touch in the Champions League return leg in Monaco later this month to turn the tie on it’s head.
