Chelsea winger expected to stay at Stoke

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has discussed his ambitions to keep Victor Moses at the club beyond his loan spell.

The 24-year-old forward has been in good form this season at Britannia stadium and has become one of the most influential players in the Premier League, sitting fifth in a list of players with the most touches.

On a season long loan from Chelsea, Moses has a £7m fee on his shoulders, but Stoke boss Hughes is confident a deal can be agreed and his loan spell will turn into a permanent move.

“Victor is still a Chelsea player, we’re very pleased with what he’s producing,” said Hughes. “We have given him the opportunity and he’s in a good place.

“We’d ideally love to be able to take him if we can but that won’t be our decision. Things have to fall in place but if there was an opportunity to bring Victor next season we’d love to do it.

“It will be discussed at the end of the season, we will see how far it can go. But his profile is being raised so it is a two-edged sword.

“A loan could be a compromise. The key would be to try and find a way to keep him here next season.

“Would he get the opportunity his talents deserve back at Chelsea? We like to think we would be a consideration for him almost certainly.”
