Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Jack Wilshere has undergone more surgery as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.
The England international has been struggling with injuries this season and has not played a competitive game for the Gunners since November.
Doubts grew last weekend when the midfielder was an unused substitute against Crystal Palace and Wenger has confirmed that he has suffered another setback.
“He had a little surgery on his ankle because it was irritating him a bit, but it’s a very minor procedure so he will be out for a few days,” Wenger told reporters.
“It was planned to be done at the end of the season and because he had an irritation with it we decided to do it now and it’s just a few days.
“Next weekend will be quick but I don’t know exactly when he will be back but it will be days not weeks.”
