Manchester United have been told to pay £25m for Roma winger Adem Ljajic, according to various reports.

United boss Louis van Gaal is currently searching Europe for a number of new signings ahead of what he hopes will be a Premier League title challenge next season.

The Dutch boss has been a frequent visitor to Italian side Roma this season, watching the performances of Kevin Strootman and Adem Ljajic, and it is being reported by Italian press that he will make a move for the latter this summer.

Ljajic was set to join United in 2010 but the English club withdrew their offer just as he was due to sign on the dotted line.

He has since developed into one of European football’s top performers, having played for Fiorentina before moving to Roma in 2013.

Having scored eight goals this season, with one of those coming in Thursday night’s Europa League tie with Feyenoord, the Italian side have put a £25m asking price on his shoulders.
