    France were in superb shape as they beat Switzerland on Friday night by five goals to two.

    France started the game better and could have made it 1-0 within a matter of minutes when Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, but he sent his effort wide of the target.

    Didier Deschamps continued to cause a problem for Ottmar Hitzfeld’s side and Olivier Giroud would soon break the deadlock with a superb header.

    20 seconds later and Blaise Matuidi would find the back of the net after a great run and through ball from Karim Benzema, found the Paris Saint Germain midfielder.

    Benzema was then hauled down by Johan Djourou but the striker missed the resulting penalty, keeping the game at 2-0.

    However, moments later and Mathieu Valbuena would make it 3-0, following good work from the lively Giroud.

    The second half continued to see France dominate and the score would soon be 4-0 as Karim Benzema scored following the break.

    Moussa Sissoko was then on hand to make it 5-0 after a superb counter attack, involving the lively Benzema.

    Switzerland would pull two goals back through Blerim Dzemaili and Granit Xhaka but it was too little too late as France held on to qualify for the next round.
