Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has joked that the could be in charge of England by the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Dutchman was speaking in a press conference ahead of this weekend’s Premier League action and was quizzed on the situation surrounding the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Details of the tournament were released earlier this week, claiming that it could be held in November and December of that year, whilst the final could be played on December 23rd due to the heat.
“It’s a little bit wrong and strange to play World Cup during a football season, but it’s not my problem,” Koeman said in today’s press conference. “It is 2022 and it’s a long time away. Life goes fast but not so fast that we have to think about it.”
To finish on the matter, Koeman was asked if would be the Dutch boss by then, but he reacted by claiming he could coach England.
“Maybe. Or maybe I’ll be English manager.”
