Former Manchester United defender believes that the club were right to sign Angel di Maria over Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez.
Di Maria impressed at Old Trafford by scoring three goals and making six assists in his first 10 matches after joining the club from Real Madrid, although his recent form has left many questioning his impact in England.
In contrast, Sanchez has scored 18 goals in 35 games for rivals Arsenal and has been hailed for his impact.
“Obviously Sanchez has had a far bigger impact and a better season than Di Maria,” Neville told talkSPORT.
“But if you would have asked me at the start of the season, ‘Sanchez or Di Maria?’, I would have said Di Maria.”
Fourth placed United are just behind Arsenal, who sit in third place and are battling for the Champions League places.
