Coutinho and Henderson don’t travel to Turkey

Liverpool duo Philippe Coutinho and Jordan Henderson have been left out of the squad to travel and face Besiktas.

Thursday’s clash with Turkish club Besiktas in the second leg of their last-32 with the tie currently in favour of Brendan Rodgers side, who lead 1-0.

The Merseyside club have been in superb form lately in the Premier League and have decided not to risk midfield pair Coutinho and Henderson.

Defensive pair Glen Johnson and Mamadou Sakho have also been left out of the squad and will remain in Liverpool.

A number of academy youngsters, including Jordan Lussey and Connor Randall, will travel to Turkey, whilst Martin Skrtel is expected to be captain ahead of Henderson.
