Glenn Hoddle has claimed that Arsenal are not good enough to seal glory in the Champions League.

Arsene Wenger’s side will play Ligue 1 side Monaco on Wednesday night in their last-16 first-leg and they approach the game in good form.

However, former Tottenham Hotspur winger Hoddle believes that Wenger’s side do not have the quality needed to lift the trophy this season.

“Arsenal’s side are much the same as Arsenal have been in recent years. Against the lesser sides they look fantastic – and you may see that side of them against Monaco – but I think when it comes to the big games against the big sides they can get rolled over,” he told Sky Sports News.

“Wenger will be disappointed if he ends his time at Arsenal without a Champions League title. For a side of their stature only one Champions League final is not enough, and only one trophy in nine years is not enough – Wenger will know that.”
