Liverpool boosted by Napoli’s Lavezzi denial

The agent of Liverpool target Ezequiel Lavezzi has said that he is not 100% certain to rejoin Italian side Napoli.

The Argentine forward has been heavily linked with a move away from Paris Saint Germain after struggling to find regular playing time under Laurent Blanc this season.

A number of clubs have been interest with Arsenal and Liverpool leading the way from England, and former club Napoli interested.

The 29-year-old admitted earlier this week that he would love to move back to Rafael Benitez’s side but his agent has said that a move back to Italy is not certain.

“Lavezzi has said nothing new,” Alejandro Mazzoni told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“He always said that if he had the opportunity to return to Italy, Napoli would be his first choice. But we must see if Napoli are interested or not.

“I also want to make it clear that we are not trying to get him to leave PSG at all costs.

“Lavezzi has expressed his thoughts, he likes Italy and especially Napoli, and if he returns to Italy, the city where he spent several years would obviously be his priority.

But that does not depend just on him.

“Much depends on the will of [Napoli] president [Aurelio] De Laurentiis. Lavezzi is a professional and in football, weddings always need two participants.”
