Manchester United will not be forced into a bidding war with the likes of Real Madrid for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, according The Express.
The 21-year-old is one of the most sought after footballers in the world at the moment with a number of Europe’s biggest clubs tracking his progress, whilst former club United have maintained their interest.
The Italian champions are prepared to sell but only for a big transfer fee, with Pogba’s agent claiming he could trump the likes of Gareth Bale and Neymar in terms of a transfer fee.
Despite interest from the likes of Chelsea, Man City, Madrid and Barcelona, United have now backed out as they do not want to spend big on a player who used to play for the club.
A source close to the club exclusively told us: “United officials are still bitter about Paul’s exit. We do not want to then go and spend £100m say on bringing him back. Ronaldo, yes, but he is a different player, he did not leave like Pogba.”
