West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has discussed recent reports linking him with a summer exit from the club.

Reports suggested earlier this week that Hammers officials were looking at other potential managers and were keen to allow Allardyce to leave the club this summer when his contract expires.

The former Newcastle United manager has had a good season with West Ham but his relationship with the club’s fans continues to be strained.

Both Real Sociedad boss David Moyes and Besiktas manager Slaven Bilic have been linked, but Allardyce claims that he understands the situation and has no concerns.

“I have never pushed to get them to say what’s going on in the contract situation because they made that perfectly clear since day one, when I joined the football club,” the West Ham boss told reporters.

“It was the same when my contract ran out last time, I waited until the end of the season. We’ve stayed in the Premier League and it’ll be the same this time.

“We all understand the situation internally, which is the most important thing.”
