Chelsea scupper Man United’s bid for ‘new Neymar’

Chelsea are ready to scupper Manchester United’s move for Fluminense forward Kenedy, who has been dubbed the ‘new Neymar’.

The Red Devils are said to have been monitoring the Brazilian youngster for a long time, having watched him burst on the scene for Fluminense and reports in England now claim that they are willing to offer £5m to bring the player to Old Trafford in the summer.

The report follows claims that a youth coach at the Brazilian Serie A club informed local media that United had made their interest serious and were also joined by Inter Milan.

Having signed twins Rafael and Fabio de Silva from the club in 2008, United have a good relationship with a number of top officials at the club and are now confident of signing the Under-20 international dubbed the ‘new Neymar’.

However, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is said to also be keen and does not want such a talent to join Premier League rivals.

A bid in the region of £5m is likely to see the youngster leave his current club.
