Juventus plan to snatch Chelsea target this summer

Juventus are ready to offer Mauro Icardi a chance to remain in Italian football after speaking with officials from Inter Milan.

Gazzetta dello Sport report that Blues boss Jose Mourinho has maintained his interest in the 21-year-old striker after watching a number of his performances this season, but that interest from Juventus is developing fast.

The report claims that officials from the Turin club have spoken with Inter about a summer move.

Inter have been reluctant to allow the Argentine international to leave the club in recent times, but growing interest from some of European football’s big money clubs has swayed their decision, prompting new boss Roberto Mancini to look elsewhere for a new striker.

Mourinho has been a long term admirer of Icardi since the days the youngster played a part in Barcelona’s famed La Masia.

Icardi spent three years with the Catalan club between 2008 and 2011 before they opted to allow him to join Sampdoria, however, Mourinho’s liking of the striker has not vanished.

Inter have valued the youngster at just £20m, a fee which Chelsea would seemingly be happy to pay.
