Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised Porto striker Jackson Martinez and believes the Colombian would shine in the Premier League.
Linked with the Porto striker before, Wenger discussed on BeIN Sports that he was a keen admirer of the 28-year-old, saying that he believes his ability would do well in English football.
Martinez has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the past with his agent once claiming that Wenger had failed with a bid in the summer of 2014 and it now looks like the Frenchman’s interest has not vanished with his latest comments.
“He has top physical strengths,” Wenger said.
“He is hugely efficient, he is the kind of player who can make room for himself in the box. He could play in the Premier League because he has the body to make the difference. He uses it in a very intelligent way with very short back lift and he’s a very good finisher.
”He’s on the list of many clubs, you know that. He will be the next big transfer who will give a big smile to Pinto da Costa [Porto’s owner],” he added.
