Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has admitted his struggle in front of goal and said that he feels responsible for his side’s poor form.
The Dutch international has scored just eight goals in 21 league games this season, prompting the former Arsenal man to respond to recent criticism when speaking to reporters on Monday.
“I think everyone in the team is responsible. Everyone feels responsible. I do, definitely,” he told reporters.
“This year I’ve played something like 20 games and I’ve scored eight goals. I’m not happy with that. I want to score more. I’ll do everything, every day in training and during the games I’ll keep doing what I’ve been doing for the last 10 years to make those goals.
“We’re not scoring enough goals, including me. I have to be honest. I’ll do everything I can to improve that.”
Van Persie has also admitted that his future at Old Trafford is not concrete, prompting speculation that he could leave the club before his current deal ends in 2016.
