Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is been put on alert after Raheem Sterling stalled on further contract talks with Liverpool.

The England international has been in heavy discussion with Anfield bosses about a new deal for some-time but negotiations have now hit a standstill with the youngster demanding almost £100k-a-week to extend his current deal, according to Daily Express.

Sterling has been impressing once again this season for Liverpool and has caught the attention of Spanish giants Real Madrid, who had been close to making a bid last summer.

However, Chelsea are ready to take full advantage of the winger’s refusal to agree terms on Merseyside.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers spoke about the situation last week, saying: “It is something the club are speaking with his representatives on and I would think that would be concluded very imminently.

“The player is very happy. It (the delay) is nothing to do with Raheem, he wants to be here so hopefully we get the solution on that very soon.”
