Arsenal have confirmed Swedish youth defender Kristopher da Graca has signed pro terms with the club.
Arsenal’s continued search for a new central defender is set to continue this January but Arsene Wenger has bolstered his first team options by handing impressive Under-18 defender Kristopher da Graca a professional contract.
The central defender has been impressing for Arsenal’s youth teams since joining last summer from Swedish side Hisingsbacka.
The Gunners have been strongly linked with a number of defensive options in recent weeks with Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk, West Ham’s Winston Reid and Dortmund’s Mats Hummels high on Wenger’s wishlist.
The 17-year-old is unlikely to force his way into Premier League contention but Wenger is likely to hand him valuable playing time in the domestic cup competitions from next season.
