Real Madrid are preparing to offload Gareth Bale as they seek to move for Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling.

The Spanish giants have been keen admirers of Raheem Sterling for some-time and have become buoyed after the youngster rejected a 70,000-per-week contract to remain at Anfield.

The 20-year-old is currently on £25k per week but rejected the deal as he is said to be unhappy following Tuesday’s defeat in the Champions League.

Real Madrid have previous with Liverpool after signing the likes of Steve McManaman and Michael Owen over the years and it is thought that they are going to do what it takes to sign Sterling next summer.

That may involve selling Gareth Bale, who is to be offered to the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, according to reports in Spanish and English press on Thursday.
