Arsenal have confirmed that an incident took place during the 2-1 victory at the Emirates and that a fan has been arrested for throwing red win over Manchester United subs.
Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has complained in the past that the dug-outs at the Emirates stadium leave players and coaches unprotected, and his words were made an example of when a fan throw red wine at United players and staff during Saturday evening’s game.
It is believed that the matter was captured on camera and that Arsenal stewards identified the culprit and he was then arrested by police.
Should he be found guilty then the fan will receive a ban from the stadium for anti-social behaviour.
United substitute Darren Fetcher was sit on the bench at the time and was seen to react furiously at the liquid being thrown.
