Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus has informed Arsenal to drop their interest as he feels he would not win trophies with the Gunners.

The German international has been strongly linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund in recent seasons and looked poised to make a summer switch to either Manchester United or Barcelona.

However, injury which kept him out of his country’s World Cup campaign in Brazil scuppered any chance of a move and he continued with the Bundesliga club, recovering from injury and starting the season well.

That has not stopped his future being discussed though, with some reports claiming that Reus has his heart firmly set on a future move to the Camp Nou where he would link up with close friend and former team-mate Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

However, Premier League champions Manchester City and Arsenal have also held interest.

But, the winger has informed the latter to drop their interest and not make contact in January or next summer as he feels he cannot win trophies with Arsene Wenger’s side.
