Manchester United are planning a new contract offer to striker Robin van Persie.
Van Persie demanded a whopping £250k per week when he left Arsenal for Old Trafford two seasons back and it is thought that the English club are preparing a deal which would see him remain on the same pay structure.
However, the terms of the deal would see his wage per week drop by more than half with United keen to pay him just £100k per week for the remaining two years of a new contract.
Much like many of United’s player this season, Van Persie is yet to find his form and a debate over his inclusion from the start of games has been heavily publicised in recent weeks.
Dutch national captain Van Persie has scored just three goals this season.
