Juventus want almost £50m from Man United for midfielder

Manchester United have been told by Juventus that they must pay almost £50m for midfielder Arturo Vidal.

Manager Louis Van Gaal and United have held long-term interest in Chilean midfielder Vidal and have made several bids to his Italian club – Juventus this summer but have failed to reach an agreement.

However, it is understood that officials at Old Trafford made a ‘last-chance’ bid for the central midfielder after having learnt that he will hold talks with Juve in the coming weeks.

Vidal was recently fined £80,ooo for getting involved in an altercation on a night out last week in Turin and his time at the club now seems to be coming to an end.

Football Express News learnt earlier this week that United submitted a tempting bid to the Serie A champions of just under £30m, but they have been rejected in their advances and told to stump up early £20m more.
