Arsenal have insisted that they are unsure as to how long Mesut Ozil will be out of action.
Ozil missed training with the German national side on Wednesday morning and instead travelled to Munich for scans on his knee, which later determined ligament damage which officials claimed would see him miss three months of action.
However, the Gunners, who issued a statement on Wednesday afternoon, remain unsure how long the former Real Madrid midfielder will be out for.
“Ozil complained of a sore left knee after [Sunday’s defeat to Chelsea] and the club advised the German FA to run medical checks when he joined up with his international squad,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
“The club will make further assessments and it is too early to say how long Ozil may be out of action.”
