Former Manchester United coach and player Phil Neville claims that his former club need to spend another £100m to push for the Premier League title.
The Red Devils have gained just five points from five games after spending big on the likes of Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo, Angel di Maria, Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao.
And, former defender Neville believes that another £100m needs to be spent if boss Louis van Gaal is to repeat the same success as Sir Alex Ferguson and push the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and champions Manchester City for the title.
“I know United have spent £150m,” Neville told BBC Radio Five Live. “I think there’s another two transfer windows of similar amounts of money needed, maybe £100m, before they can even think about winning the title.
“I think the centre-back position is obviously the key area. Holding midfield or centre midfield needs addressing [too].”
