Manchester United stoke the show as they were crowned International Champions Cup winners by beating Liverpool 3-1 at the Sun Life stadium.
It was Liverpool who started the game better as Glen Johnson fed in Raheem Stering, only for the youngster to be fouled in the area by Phil Jones and for the referee to point to the penalty spot.
Steven Gerrard made no mistake from the spot as he confidently put the ball past David de Gea and into the right hand corner.
The Merseyside club continued to impress and their passing game had United on the backfoot for the large part of the first half.
However, a turnaround in United’s fortunes just after the hour mark saw Wayne Rooney level the game after some good link up play with Javier Hernandez.
Juan Mata would then give United the lead after his shot deflected past a helpless Simon Mignolet and Louis van Gaal’s side began to get a grip of the game.
As Liverpool pressed for a leveller, a quick counter attack saw Lingard score the third and final goal of the game, sealing an impressive second half display from the Red Devils.
