Robinho opens up about Milan misery

AC Milan forward Robinho has admitted that his future at the club is in doubt but he is no closer to establishing where he will be next season.

The former Manchester City attacker has plummeted down the San Siro pecking order after a bitterly disappointing 2013-14 campaign and has been told that he is free to find another employer.

He was joined by his representatives in a meeting with the Milan hierarchy last night, after which he is quoted by Italian source Tutto Mercato Web as saying: “We are still deciding.

“The best situation for me is one that works best for the company that has always treated me well.

“We hope to do the right thing for me and Milan.”

The 30-year-old has been left out of head coach Filippo Inzaghi’s squad for the pre-season tour of the USA, and has instead remained in Italy with his agent, Marisa Ramos.

Robinho has two years remaining on his contract and is unlikely to command a large transfer fee – in stark contrast to his £30million arrival at City from Real Madrid in 2008.

He lasted 18 months at the Etihad Stadium before a loan spell at Santos was followed by the permanent switch to Milan.
