Fenerbahce have completed the signing of Netherlands international defender Nathan Ake from Manchester City in a deal worth up to £8.5m.
The Turkish club have paid approximately £7m upfront, with the remainder dependent on various add-ons being triggered throughout the deal.
Ake, 31, featured three times for the Netherlands at the 2026 World Cup before their exit at the last-32 stage, where they were beaten by Morocco.
The defender spent six years at the Etihad Stadium, accumulating an impressive haul of honours during his time in Manchester.
During his City career, Ake won four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, two League Cups, and the Champions League, establishing himself as one of the club’s key squad members.
“It’s been a privilege to represent Manchester City over the past six years and I’m so grateful to have been part of a special team,” said Ake in a farewell statement.
“I’ve grown so much here – as a player and a person and I’m thankful for the time I’ve had at the club,” the Dutchman added.
Ake also reflected on specific highlights, saying: “I’ll always cherish the memories, particularly of winning the Treble, being part of all four Premier League titles in a side that made history and triumphing in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup in my final season at the club.”
He concluded: “While I’m moving on, I’m very proud of everything we’ve achieved together and City will always be special to me.”
Ake joined City from Bournemouth back in 2020 for a fee of £40m and went on to make 177 appearances for the club across all competitions.
His exit this summer had been widely anticipated, with the defender entering the final year of his contract and struggling for consistent playing time in Pep Guardiola’s last season at the helm.
Ake managed just 17 starts across all competitions during that campaign, with only six of those coming in the Premier League, underlining his reduced role in City’s plans.
