Harry Kane and Dan Burn attended a Ella Langley country music concert in Independence, Missouri, during a day off granted by manager Thomas Tuchel on Friday.
Goalkeeper Jason Steele also joined the duo at the show, with the trio making the most of their rare break from World Cup preparations.
Kane had scored twice just days earlier in England’s 4-2 victory over Croatia in their opening World Cup group stage fixture.
Newcastle United defender Burn revealed that captain Kane is a devoted fan of the genre, with country music regularly filling the team hotel’s corridors.
“Harry is a big country music fan,” said Burn. “There’s a record player in the hotel and when it’s the captain’s pick a lot of it is country music.”
Langley is best known for her hit Choosin’ Texas, which reached the top of the US charts and has climbed to number 12 in the UK.
Burn arrived at the venue fully dressed for the occasion, making sure he looked the part for the country music event in Missouri.
“We got asked to go and watch Ella Langley. I was the only person suited and booted with cowboy hat, jeans, the lot,” the defender said.
Kane and Steele were fortunate enough to meet Langley in person before the show got underway, though Burn missed out due to his later arrival.
“Harry and Steeley managed to meet Ella before the gig, but I turned up a little bit later,” Burn explained with good humour.
Unfortunately for the trio, England’s strict curfew meant they were unable to see the concert through to its conclusion, leaving before the final songs.
“But we missed the last three songs because we had to be back for curfew, which I was a bit gutted about because those are her best ones,” Burn admitted.
This was not the first time the players had hoped to catch Langley perform, having previously missed a show in West Palm Beach due to the same curfew restrictions.
“Ella was playing in West Palm Beach when we were there, but we weren’t able to go because we wouldn’t have got back for curfew so I’m glad we got another opportunity,” said Burn.
Kane later took to Instagram to share pictures from the evening, including one showing him standing alongside Langley as she held an England shirt.
“Great to meet you @ellalangleymusic, thank you for having us! Amazing show, keep smashing it!” the England captain wrote.
