Real Madrid have officially denied reports suggesting they are pursuing Bayern Munich and France winger Michael Olise this summer transfer window.
The Spanish club insist they have not had any “direct or indirect contact” with the 24-year-old, “his representatives, or individuals in his circle.”
The denial follows reports that Madrid were considering making a bid of more than 200 million euros, equivalent to around £173 million, for the winger.
“Real Madrid also wishes to highlight the excellent institutional relationship it maintains with Bayern Munich… and regrets the dissemination of speculations that do not correspond to reality,” the club said in a statement released on Saturday.
The club also stressed that “any potential interest in a player belonging to the other club must be addressed first between the entities themselves.”
Olise has been in stunning form this season, scoring 22 goals and contributing 31 assists for Bayern Munich across all competitions in 2025-26.
He is also a key member of France’s squad at the 2026 World Cup, where he provided the assist for Kylian Mbappe’s opener in a 3-1 group stage victory against Senegal.
Real Madrid, now managed by Jose Mourinho, have already been active in the transfer market this summer, securing several high-profile additions to their squad.
The club signed Bernardo Silva on a free transfer and brought in full-back Marc Cucurella from Chelsea in a deal worth £52 million, with defender Ibrahima Konate set to join when his Liverpool contract expires at the end of this month.
However, Real suffered a setback when city rivals Atletico Madrid rejected a 150 million euro offer for striker Julian Alvarez, leaving Mourinho short of attacking reinforcements.
That bid followed a pledge from Real president Florentino Perez to make a 150 million euro offer for an unnamed “galactico” player after being re-elected to his position.
Perez secured 65% of the vote earlier this month, extending his presidency until 2030 having originally taken office back in 2009.
Despite the firm denial, Olise’s outstanding performances this season will inevitably keep his name linked with Europe’s biggest clubs throughout the summer window.
