Aston Villa forward Kirsty Hanson is set to join Tottenham after an impressive Women’s Super League campaign that saw her finish as one of the division’s top scorers.
The Scotland international ended the season as the league’s third highest goalscorer, netting 12 goals in 22 matches, with only Khadija Shaw and Alessia Russo scoring more.
Hanson was named Villa’s player of the year after her outstanding contributions throughout the campaign for the Midlands club.
She also claimed the WSL Football goal-of-the-season award for her strike against West Ham, further underlining her quality during an exceptional individual season.
BBC Sport reported in May that Spurs were pursuing Hanson, and it is now believed Tottenham have had a bid accepted by Villa ahead of bringing her in this month.
Personal terms are being finalised as the 28-year-old prepares to complete a move to Tottenham, representing another significant addition to Martin Ho’s squad.
Hanson had a year remaining on her contract at Villa, though the fee Tottenham have agreed to sign her for remains unknown at this stage.
The forward has scored five goals in 44 appearances for Scotland, establishing herself as an experienced and important figure at international level.
The move will see Hanson reunite with Spurs manager Ho, having previously worked with him at Manchester United where he served as assistant coach.
Tottenham enjoyed a strong 2025-26 campaign, finishing fifth in the table in Ho’s debut season as manager after he joined the club from SK Brann.
The north London club are proving ambitious in the current transfer window, having already secured the signings of West Ham forward Shekiera Martinez and Dutch defender Caitlin Dijkstra.
Hanson’s arrival would represent yet another statement of intent from Tottenham as they look to build on a promising first season under Ho’s management.
